shorthaul training

Kris says my blog is boring so here's my latest post. This is our yearly shorthaul training with the Grand canyon Rangers and the helicopter crew. Shorthaul is used when a rescue attempt cannot be made by landing the helicopter or a technical rope rescue or litter carry is out of the question. Basically these brave souls are willing to hang on the end of a 100 to 150 foot line hanging on the helicopter and be flown into the person in need of help. Once they're on scene, the put the person in a harness and we fly them both out. Sorry about all the helicopter pictures but my job is awesome.

Dave and Andrea's wedding

Very good times had by all. After two days of kayaking the Salt river. Kris and I spent another three down in Carefree for the big wedding. A lot of Ross's and rowdiness. So glad to be a part of the family

One more for the road

Kris just came home with a photo I couldn't resist. A self portrait if the mexican wrestling mask she picked up on here recent surf trip to Mexico. Also, a couple good pictures of our dog, "Big Gay Marv".

Don't leave your keys in an unattended scooter!

While riding our beach cruisers home from the Pay n Take one evening. We found ourselves in front of our friend Jon Ragner's house eyeballing a lonely scooter. Needless to say, we "liberated" the scooter for about an hour. Kris and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Good times!

Grand Canyon's gettin busy

Here are some photos of my last three days at GC. All the precpitation has really helped us in Northern AZ. The Brittle Bush is in full bloom and the whole canyon is yellow and green. The aquifers in the redwall limestone layer must be full because all the springs are flowing strong. Check out roaring springs! Anyway here some pictures of stone creek, phantom, mile and a half house, and 104 mile. Not a bad time at the office.
